Brooke Waters has always been a good girl- straight A's, respectful to peers and elders, helpful, generous. But her and her mother's verbally abusive relationship, along with the passing of her father (possibly even her Grandma) has changed her. Brooke struggles to survive on what little money she earns from nightly shifts at a diner and what she gets from extra credit work from one of her college professors. She has minimal time to herself during the weekends, and spends half of it it at clubs- drinking her problems away and mindlessly flirting with every guy she sees. But Brooke is nobody's girl, and she doesn't plan to be- her beautiful looks and dreamy curves are deceiving. Almost every other weekend, she ends up in a different stranger's house, with anything but her clothes on- and she has no memory of the nights before. Brooke can barely afford her stamp-sized studio apartment off of her low paying job and small savings. Then, she runs into Isaac Lockmann- daredevil, athletic, and drop-dead gorgeous. He's a player, lives in a huge penthouse apartment, makes a very respectable salary, and he's flirtatious as hell. Usually Isaac would play with girls for pleasure, then drop them off like dead flies. But Brooke- Brooke was different. She was vague and witty. Flirty and closed off. And oh so cute. A story of love, loss, and endless sarcasm and humour- an enjoyable book for anyone who can relate to the life of a teen.
