She was standing there under the same oak tree they first met. Her eyes glistened with tears, and her lips trembled, looking at the man in front of her. The silence of the night pierced through her ears louder than any sound. They were standing there, looking at each other. None of them spoke a word, but their eyes did. Soon, she gulped down the painful lump that was forming in her throat and almost whispered "Let's end this, let's end this relationship this...this... this bound. Let's end the 'US'". The man just looked at her but didn't say anything other than reaching out to hold her hand, but she moved away. It pained him, he wanted to beg her, he wanted to yell at her, he wanted to ask for a reason, but he couldn't. He couldn't say a word or even form a sentence. They looked at each other, and both had tears running down their cheeks. She took a slow step and soon left. Left him standing there heartbroken, destroyed, and vulnerable. She left him there, looking like a pathetic weakling. He wanted to run after her. He wanted to pull her into his embrace and ask her what had happened for her decision. But he couldn't move. He felt numb and empty.
