Rylee's family has not seen Luke, Noah, Amie, or their mother Marie. Ever since moving across the country a while back, it's consisted of emotion less zoom calls and awkward birthday texts until one day Rylee's family decides to visit them for the summer. She is conflicted, her childhood crush Luke is there yet he is still hung up on her sister. So she makes a deal with the older brother, fake date, get both jealous, and that's the end. But when feelings arise, Rylee will have to figure out if this is really all so "fake".

You want a home? I'll give you a home. You want a family? I'll give you that as well. Do you want riches and glory too? then work hard and earn it. Child life is difficult. All of us know that, but if you succumb unto the misery, you'll never see the glimpse of the people whose eyes are filled with pride and joy, that can make my heart bleed with envy, that will make me want it too, and give me reason to grab that feeling and never let it go. I tell you what. If your angry, be angry. If your sad, be sad. If your jealous, be jealous. If your depressed, be depressed. but always remember that what I felt right now may not be what I feel later. So as much as possible, this feeling right now will stay here, and what I may feel by then will stay there.
