My life is not a movie... And I am not a main character. Main characters are: • pretty • skinny • effortlessly likeable • mysterious in a cool way • the kind of girls boys fall in love with on sight • the kind of girls who don't spill tea in their bags • the kind of girls whose hair doesn't frizz the second it rains I am none of the above. I'm the girl who walks into college late, gets stared at for all the wrong reasons, and immediately embarrasses herself in front of the hottest boy alive. I'm the girl whose best friend is the pretty one. The girl who smokes under the desk because she has no coping skills. The girl who daydreams about fictional romances because real life feels... empty. And honestly? It's not just college that's a mess. Home isn't safe. My parents aren't the warm, supportive type - more like the type you avoid breathing near. So I escape the only way I know how: maladaptive daydreams, imaginary boyfriends, and pretending my life could be something cinematic. Then Finley Mason walks into my film studies class. Beautiful. Untouchable. Completely unaware I exist. He's everything I'm not. Everything I'll never have. Everything I can only love in my head. But the thing about life is... sometimes the scenes you never planned are the ones that change everything. This isn't a movie. But it might still be a story.
