Jade moves to the run-down town of Belleville, New Jersey in the Summer of 1996 and immediately decides she hates it. She misses her previous home of Australia, but because of the recent death of her parents, Jade is forced to move in with her last remaining family, her aunt and cousin-the Ieros.

After her Dad gets a new job, Ren has to move to New Jersey with him and his new girlfrien Julia. She and Julia's daughter Neveah must start a new life in the state un-known to them.

Frank Iero lives a miserable life in the foster home, with his only friend being the lady in the school cafeteria, and as his social worker put it, he was "disturbed" and "had a lack of social skills". during his relentless search for his biological parents, things turn around when he meets his new best friend (and potential lover) Gerard. But it seems as though Gerard has had a darker past that he originally thought...
