Buck looking down at where Eddie had wrapped both of his hands around Buck's fingers.
He sat there quietly a moment, studying Eddie's hands. They were calloused, bigger than Buck's. They'd held him after the bombing, after the well, after the tsunami, after the shooting. They'd brought him back to life after the lightning, restarted his heart.
Their whole life together could be told with those hands. From the very first handshake when they swore to have each other's backs, to Eddie grabbing him and pointing at him in anger and yet Buck never felt an ounce of fear.
He flipped his hand over slowly, ignoring the burn of the scrapes on his palm. He threaded his fingers with Eddies, heart stuttering at how smoothly they fit together.
