Two weeks since his best friend died and now Steve is falling to his death, his mission failed. He could cry. Who would blame him? He was seconds from death, fear piqued, and yet...no tears fall? Bucky always thought the first thing he would do with his freedom is go find Steve. He quickly realizes that he isn't who Steve thinks he is anymore. Steve wants his best friend from the 40s. Loud, outgoing, adventurous, and a big flirt, not the screwed up and the broken person he is today. After the events of the Winter Soldier Bucky moves to a farm in small-town Wisconsin. He has 20 acres, chickens, a garden, and four big plum trees. He starts to feel at home in this small community. OR Bucky recovers until he is more or less the person that he thinks Steve wants him to be.

Bucky Barnes has escaped. Until a cure for Hydra's control over his mind could be found, the Winter Soldier was to be locked inside a cryo chamber where no one but Steve could find him. Or so they thought. Bucky finds himself baring the marks of Hydra once again as he roams the streets of New York City, torn between hiding from the person that unleashed him from the chamber and searching for the answers he desperately needs. Once a winter soldier, always a winter soldier. As he finds himself caught in a war with Shield and Hydra, will Bucky be freed from his curse or will the phrase of his enemies haunt his mind forever?
