That's where he met Charlie Mathews, an absolute Brooklyn sweetheart that lived a very uneventful life. That was all before she met Steve. Before she met him. Bucky and Charlie have a short lived friendship before the inevitable happens and he gets drafted to go fight for his country. He knew it was bound to happen, he knew that going to war would be one of the hardest things he would have to do but having to leave his best girl behind left him heartbroken. Oblivious to the future that was waiting for him, Bucky made promises to her he won't live long enough to keep. Fate brought them together once and will do it again, but the universe doesn't give out happy endings so easily.

After breaking an unlikely ally from prison on a SHIELD mission, Bucky Barnes finds himself on babysitting duty for a mutate with a spotty past and snarky attitude. Both of them have seen their fair share of darkness, but there's an overwhelming light that seems to be drawing them together. Two of the biggest changes you will notice is that none of our friends ended up in the Raft, and instead of beating each other senseless after Tony finds out Bucky killed his parents, Tony got a good punch in (on Steve) and told them to sign the Accords. All's well that ends well. Lots of other things are different(hence the pairings) but those are the major ones. Oh. And JARVIS.
