Kazała ją mu nalać do braterskiego kielicha. Tak też zrobił ów nieuczciwy rywal podczas nocnej biesiady, a kiedy z rana się obudził i wpadł do komnat brata, nie zastał tam jego lecz maleńkiego ptaka. Zabrał go z zamku i wyniósł na błonia. Tam wypuścił go, mówiąc: "Niech miła ci droga!" Ptaszek odleciał, lecz nie uciekł zbyt daleko. Przycupnął na parapecie przy okienku, skąd mógł dalej podziwiać miłość swoją. Jak się skończy owa historia? Czy los będzie litościwy dla małego drozda? Czy brata ruszy w końcu sumienie, czy w niwecz puści całe zdarzenie? Przekonajcie się sami, opowieść jest długa. A ten, kto do końca jej wytrwa, ten pozna dolę nowego króla.
