As someone born and raised in Budapest with plenty of curiosity, I looked for parts of the city which were hidden from the naked eye. Stories, untold before, rumors, never spoken out loud, strange people stayed in the shadowy corners. I collected these tales over many years on trams and subways; in underpasses, bridges and apartments; across the hills of Buda and the flats of Pest. A new story every two weeks.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a 2014 drama directed by Wes Anderson, inspired by the stories of 19th century author Stefan Zweig. This is the second Wes Anderson film I have seen to date, and it has made quite an impression.
