The difference between Evan Buckley and Eddie Diaz, lies in the experience of loneliness versus solitude - solitude being a choice, while loneliness never is. Buck spends majority of his life feeling alone - so badly yearning to be someone's first choice for once. Eddie, on the other hand, has recently chosen solitude, not wanting to let anyone know of his struggles hidden beneath the surface.
