On May 3rd 1666 Isaac Newton made a discovery that changed the world. We haven't been told the full story of what really happened that fateful day under the apple tree. A funny, entertaining tale of madness, strangeness and a smattering of science.

Every week I will look for a postcard with an image on it and force myself to write a story that correlates with that photograph, small enough to fit on a postcard. You can find all the stories on my instagram @Boojorii . Today's postcard has a photograph on it made by Swiss photographer Stefan Rappo. I picked up this postcard on my trip to Paris where I visited the Centre Pompidou. It reminded me of a poem by Charles Bukowski called 'Hell is a Lonely place'. If you liked the photograph as much as I did, he has a new photography book out called 'TEZZ'.

This poem was inspired by Charles Bukowski's poem "Cold Summer'. It is taking the same observational perspective of the time we have left. The thing that is more precious than gold or any other monetary value we place on physical items. Time is something we are gifted with but we don't know how much of it we have, but we seem to do a great job wasting a lot of it. An ode to Bukowski and the act of writing, this poem explores themes of observation, imitation, and the flawed nature of equating age with wisdom. It reflects on the writer's personal experiences with arrogance and the limitations of experience without understanding. The poem uses a conversational tone, blending personal reflection with literary commentary, creating a raw and relatable piece.
