Season 16 follows what comes after the ending that never should have been. Hunts return to the road, old wounds refuse to stay buried, and the bunker slowly fills again with something it almost lost: family. For Dean and Cas, it is also the season where silence finally breaks, where the words once left unsaid finally find their way home, and where love becomes something neither of them has to hide. It was supposed to preserve civilization. Then the missiles fell. Fifteen years later, five thousand people live inside the mountain, ruled by the man who sealed the doors - General Arthur Collins. Some believe the outside world is still radioactive. Some believe Collins is lying. And some believe the bunker has become a prison. Charlie Kane helped build the mountain. Now he may be the only one who can open it. But opening the doors could destroy the fragile society that survived the apocalypse. And there are people inside the mountain who will do anything to keep them closed. Because once the doors open... Humanity has to face the world again.

Every year two people are chosen to leave Eden, to go on a mission outside of the bunker. 171 years after the environmental crisis sent the worlds population underground. It is a great honor to be chosen for this path of certain death. Saege, with the powers of the mind, is certain there is more to the world than Eden has taught.
