Poetry about the beginning of the end, the beginning of something new

A buried skeleton lies with an iron sickle pressed across its throat-a grim restraint forged to pin down a vampire and keep its eternal hunger from ever rising again.

The anguish of losing a loved one can only be truly understood by someone else who has been through a similar situation... I wrote this short piece about two/three years ago. Let me know what you think!

An ancient Viking burial is uncovered in a remote tundra, revealing a skull in a plain iron helmet, a rune-covered sword, and a bone-carved pouch. As the archaeologists disturb the tomb, strange phenomena escalate - time fractures, equipment fails, and shadowed figures gather. The grave is not a resting place, but a prison. Now, the eye on the helmet has opened.

A team of researchers opens an ancient sarcophagus sealed for millennia. Instead of dust, they release something that breathes-something that hungers for the air within their lungs, leaving only empty suits and fresh carvings of their faces on the tomb.

This short story is an expanded version of the poem "Beach Burial" by Kenneth Slessor, it started off as a school assignment but I decided to share it with you, the wattpad community, because I figured I would upload it and see if you guys like it.
