Mike and Will had been distant since Spring 1986, often avoiding each other. During searches for Vecna, they'd almost always do their best to be in separate groups from each other, and when they'd end up in the same group, they wouldn't say a word to each other. But with Vecna coming back, Vecna takes Will into the upside down, and Mike follows Will without thinking, not wanting to lose him despite their damaged friendship. Now, Mike and Will are stuck in the upside down and are now forced to rely on each other for survival.

This is just a byler story that has come into my head. We everything cannon will still happen but with the Byler twist in these boys minds.

3 years after the season 5 epilogue, College AU. Mike and Chance (apart of the bully gang) are college roommates, but they aren't friends. they don't talk or interact and are complete opposites. Chance and Will are dating, but Mike doesn't know this because he and Will grew apart and haven't spoken in about a year. Later on, Mike finds out that Will and Chance are dating.

This story is my version of what happened after Will came out.
