This is an original story that I made from a 4 panel Byler fan art piece I saw. It takes place in Hawkins in 1986 while the war is still going on, and Will has moved back to Hawkins. Everything that happened in season 4 still happened and this is after spring break. Please know that this is my first fanfic and I am still learning. So please be patient if and when I make mistakes. This is ongoing and I am in school so I may not finish for a while but I will try to as fast as I can. This is technically a Byler story but you can take it how you like, if you ship mileven that is okay. Season 4 byler but in Mikes POV !! I feel like no one talks abt his pov with byler, he's such a underrated and misunderstood character, (might be uncanon to the characters tried to make it as Canon as possible!)

Will and Mike get into a fight. I just wanted to right byler angst

14 year old Will is thinking about the past and comes to a sudden realisation that maybe the love he feels towards his best friend isn't at platonic as he would've liked it to be. Now stuck with this problem and the ongoing mess in Hawkins Will has to find a way to hide this feeling from everyone- it's the 80s it's frowned upon. Tensions rise and Will and Mike's relationship lands at a point it hasn't before.

As soon as poor Will Byers sees Mike Wheeler's and Jane Hopper's (Eleven's) hands holding, kissing on a balcony, his heart shatters. But will the heartbreak last forever?

Will Byers had finally snapped. The last drop of patience that he had somehow managed to maintain overflowed into a pool of anger and heartbreak. He was done with Mike Wheeler's bullshit. He was sick of his friends not caring. He wanted them to hurt the way he does. And when that oppurtunity presents itself in the form of Vecna, Will learns things about himself he would have never imagined to be true. * * * Just thought this would be fun to write because Will deserves a villian arc.

I never meant for him to read it. It was just a letter - something I wrote because the feelings were getting too loud and I didn't know what else to do. I hid it under the tree. I wasn't going to give it to him. I wasn't ready for him to know. But someone found it. He read it. And now everything's different. Christmas is a mess, everyone is angry, and Mike... Mike can't even look at me the same way. I wish I could take it all back. I wish I'd never written that stupid letter.
