Mike notices Will's staring and finally says something about it. or The moment Will has been anticipating finally happens at a random gas station in Utah.

Mike breaks up with El because he just can't see himself with her anymore and it's too much stress. As if that wasn't enough stress, now he's getting these feelings for his best friend Will. But he's not gay. He can't be gay, he's liked girls before. Besides, Will is just his best friend. (Takes place right after season 3 but in a situation we're they didn't move and everyone's still in Hawkins, there is swearing, NO SMUT!!, and obviously rights go to the people who created stranger things I did not create these characters) Update: this book is basically just heartstopper if it was byler, when I wrote this book I was OBSESSED with both heartstopper and byler and unconsciously just mixed them together 💀

Two boys secretly fall in love

The story takes place 5 years after the last battle, each member of the party has taken different paths but regularly gives each other news EXCEPT will & mike, who haven't spoken to each other for more than four years since Will noticed that it was always up to him to make the first move. they ended up never contacting each other again, leaving a blur about their relationship for all these years. Until the day when Will gets ready with his two friends to participate in a life model class at his art school; without realizing that this day will drastically change his life. It's Mike in person who'll be the model during the class, what is going to happen during this reunion? Will Will finally uncover the truth behind Mike's distance? Is he even going to succeed in speaking to his childhood sweetheart whom he thought was not reciprocal? Will Mike be able to put his insecurities aside and admit to his former best friend what he's been too afraid to acknowledge? A story of Will and Mike realising there love for each other. 1986 isn't the easiest for 16 year old Will Byers. After moving away from his home town he has struggled in making new friends. The only one he counts on is his step-sister El. Will missed the chance with a normal childhood and all he wants is it back but after the move he had to say goodbye to his friends: Dustin, Lucas, Max and Mike. Without them Will is struggling with his identity, he has no one to turn to. Will just wants to remember the time when things were easier. Mike now without his ex-girlfriend El and his friend Will is having trouble in Hawkins. He now has lost both of the people who meant the most to him. Though he has his other friends it isn't the same. He can't remember the last time he felt complete: was it with El or was it with Will? Mike continues to struggle with his identity and without the guidance from his friends he may never find acceptance. [Takes place after the events of season 3]

Basically Will and Mike have feelings for eachother, and prom is coming up.

I am going to start this fic at the end of season 3. Basically, we'll be following the timeline from a few weeks after the events at Starcourt to the gap between the Byers moving in October. Canonically, we don't get to see what happened during those months so I thought I would start my story there with how I imagine things could have gone between Mike and Will as well as the rest of the gang. I plan to carry my storyline all the way to where we pick up in season 4 and continue the story from there. I plan to try to keep this story as historically accurate to the 1980s as I can, I'll be doing research to make sure that it's as realistic as possible and handled with care! **CHAPTER 1 UNDER CONSTRUCTION** cover art by me :)
