- This is my rewrite of stranger things season 5 because the duffer brothers genuinely got a lobotomy or something before writing season 5. -The whole premise of the season is going to change as I hated the way they just "patched" up the massive gaping hole -I am mostly going to focus on Mike and Will's POV because I want them and the main four to be the center of the show again, reminicent of season 1. -Byler is going to be canon and I am going to write it very realistically from who I perceive the characters to be thus far. -I haven't written a fanfic in a while so please bear with me as I get back into writing -Enjoy!

It's summer in Hawkins, and the party is reunited for break after a year apart scattered in different Universities. Mike and Will spend too much time together, slipping back into their familiar bond. But unspoken feelings and old tension linger beneath the surface. And Mike struggles to navigate his feelings for Will. Or: Mike malfunctions and gay panics around Will.

I am going to start this fic at the end of season 3. Basically, we'll be following the timeline from a few weeks after the events at Starcourt to the gap between the Byers moving in October. Canonically, we don't get to see what happened during those months so I thought I would start my story there with how I imagine things could have gone between Mike and Will as well as the rest of the gang. I plan to carry my storyline all the way to where we pick up in season 4 and continue the story from there. I plan to try to keep this story as historically accurate to the 1980s as I can, I'll be doing research to make sure that it's as realistic as possible and handled with care! **CHAPTER 1 UNDER CONSTRUCTION** cover art by me :)

Mike still makes sure to keep an eye out for him, but sometimes he just doesn't quit. Meanwhile, Will isn't making it any easier for him. They're away from home and living on campus now which can cause a whole lot of new drama... and it sure ain't high school drama. A story of Will and Mike realising there love for each other. 1986 isn't the easiest for 16 year old Will Byers. After moving away from his home town he has struggled in making new friends. The only one he counts on is his step-sister El. Will missed the chance with a normal childhood and all he wants is it back but after the move he had to say goodbye to his friends: Dustin, Lucas, Max and Mike. Without them Will is struggling with his identity, he has no one to turn to. Will just wants to remember the time when things were easier. Mike now without his ex-girlfriend El and his friend Will is having trouble in Hawkins. He now has lost both of the people who meant the most to him. Though he has his other friends it isn't the same. He can't remember the last time he felt complete: was it with El or was it with Will? Mike continues to struggle with his identity and without the guidance from his friends he may never find acceptance. [Takes place after the events of season 3]

"Hey Mike?" Will looks down at his hands while sitting on mikes couch "Yeah?" Mike sits next to Will and gets closer to him. "Why did you change? Why are you so..weird around me? Why are you so mean?" Mike can feel his eyes tearing up so does Will. ( THIS STORY WAS DISCONTINUED)

Will, born into an elite family, America's prodigy and the best student they ever had, works for the military. Mike, America's most wanted criminal, lives on the streets in the slums, and he's constantly chased by the army. There are no odds that their paths would be crossed, but what happens when Wills brother gets killed, and Mike is the main suspect? This is very inspired by (almost a remake) the book "legend" by Marie Lu, so all creds to her for that
