Will Byers had been in love with his best friend Mike Wheeler for years, but until recently Mike never realised and once he did, he noticed his love for Will was more than his love for his super-powered girlfriend, Eleven. Eleven had saved them on many occasions through the troubles of Hawkins but the loss of her father and moving away with the Byers family came to a head, nobody knows what she would do if anyone was to stand in the way of anything that means something to her. A story of Will and Mike realising there love for each other. 1986 isn't the easiest for 16 year old Will Byers. After moving away from his home town he has struggled in making new friends. The only one he counts on is his step-sister El. Will missed the chance with a normal childhood and all he wants is it back but after the move he had to say goodbye to his friends: Dustin, Lucas, Max and Mike. Without them Will is struggling with his identity, he has no one to turn to. Will just wants to remember the time when things were easier. Mike now without his ex-girlfriend El and his friend Will is having trouble in Hawkins. He now has lost both of the people who meant the most to him. Though he has his other friends it isn't the same. He can't remember the last time he felt complete: was it with El or was it with Will? Mike continues to struggle with his identity and without the guidance from his friends he may never find acceptance. [Takes place after the events of season 3]

In this story it it's an alternative universe that takes place in 2022 where mike hasn't met will (the monsters don't exist)

Will slouches on the couch, "Mike, I'm only trying to help..." Will says sounding and now looking deflated "Am I like some charity case to you?" Mike asks and Will gapes and stiffens sitting up, "What? no...No no no...is that what you think?" Will ask "Yes...Cause it feels like it sometimes..." And then the water works starts, his eyes wet and his lips quivering, Mike feels so weird and embarrassed and at first Will is just staring at him like some puzzle that he doesn't know how to solve but then suddenly Will is pulling him close to his chest, "It's okay...I'm here." Will whispers and runs his hand through Mike's hair. "Mmm...not really..." Mike says voice low. "What is it?" Will ask and Mike doesn't say anything "I-I just wanna listen to your breathing...want you..." and Mike grabs Wills waist "O-okay..." Will says voice confused but he doesn't say anything else And they sit there for a while just like that, the only thing Mike hears is Will's breathing and his and only feels Wills body against his and the feel of Wills hands through his hair, god he loves this...he wishes they could go this everyday... He wish they could be like this forever. TW - f slur, homophobic wording , mentions of sexual themes and toxic family life

After the events of season 4 stranger things, Will must deal with the hardships of feelings he holds for his best friend as well as the torture vecna withholds onto him . Meanwhile, Mike begins to prioritise the struggles of Will and tries to figure out the reason for his change in behaviour . BYLER ANGST
