He woke in a dying empire. And he remembered everything. Michael Jameston, a 55-year-old American silkscreen craftsman and executive, finds himself in the crumbling shadow of Byzantium-inhabiting the body of Constantine Palaiologos, Despot of Morea. With modern knowledge and a lifetime of hard-earned pragmatism, he must navigate medieval warfare, religious schisms, and imperial decay to rewrite history. Can one man change the fate of an empire? What to Expect: Strategic Isekai - No system. No magic. Just realism and grit. Empire-building in a grounded 15th-century Byzantine setting Military campaigns, diplomacy, and court intrigue Multiple POVs, with a central focus on the MC's rise Believable, slow technological progression Based on deep historical research - real names, real places, real stakes 2-3k word chapters released every Monday and Thursday Currently 14 chapters ahead on Patreon If you enjoy alternate history, grounded strategy, or kingdom building, Empire Rewritten is for you.

A ten minute short story, based on the legend of the general Belisarius being blinded by his Emperor, Justinian. It is almost certainly a legend, and not fact, but it makes for an interesting story.

General Farrokhan is the most dangerous man in Persia. A Sassanid commander of the seventh century, he is famous for relentless conquest and the destruction of cities and churches across the eastern Byzantine empire. But before he can burn a particular church to the ground, he becomes entranced by the story told in one of its mosaics, about a seven hundred year-old trio of Magi whose descendants are feared and revered by his people. Instead of destroying the church as planned, he protects it while the rector recounts the ancient tale of a man from Judah named Melchior, who escapes a life he hates to marry the one he loves. Over the course of many events, both victorious and tragic, the Judean finds himself in Persia, under the tutelage and care of a wise Zoroastrian Magus. Decades later, as the leader of the community, he begrudgingly embarks on a journey with two of his fellow Magi to follow a vague prophecy and a mysterious star. As Farrokhan connects with the story, his life takes a bizarre turn for the worse. One by one the events in his life begin to mirror those of Melchior’s life so many centuries ago, until the commander concludes that he has fallen victim to a curse. But when he returns to the mosaic that began it all he finds the source, not of a curse, but of a grander purpose he is destined to fulfill.

"If Lovino and Veneziano hate me, daddy, I don't know how to fix it." Gemma stared at her legs that were conveniently folded in front of her. "You don't need to fix it," Grandpa Rome replied. "You need to make it the way it was. You were an empire, still are. And if you could handle that, then you can handle gaining their trust. You're their mother, after all." And with that he stood and left the sobbing nation to her thoughts. ---------

A story that I've been toying with and it's not guaranteed that I'll write but if I somehow get the motivation to I will. Also I'm partially inspired to write it after reading Rad3eIR's ES AU Horizon Blue story and I recommend to read that and follow him. I may not have written much but it's what I got.
