Noelle is just another college girl in her last year, but she is anything like a normal college girl. She doesn’t party and she doesn’t drink. And she most certainly doesn’t date. She would rather stay at home where she’s most comfortable. Free from a world where people judge her for wanting to be her own person rather than do what others do. Her friends are always trying to get her to be more social, especially since they notice how lonely she gets at times. But no matter what, she’s still the sweet, shy, innocent girl from a small town. Someone too afraid to break out of her shell, yet desperately wants out of. Noelle has no clue what she wants from life and can’t see her future. The only thing she can grasp onto is her dreams. But is that enough to spell out a future for her? Especially when she’s trying to make others happy, at the sake of her own happiness. Then one night brings an unexpected encounter with the least expected person. He is a loner with a mysterious past. A past he doesn’t want to talk about, let alone think about. Even now, he still can’t escape it. No matter what he does, he always seems to be chained down to his past. Now he’s looking for a fresh start. Only he doesn’t know how to go about it. His past is always becoming his present, and what it seems, maybe his future for good. Then he meets her. One night with one unforeseen encounter and everything changes. Can two people with unknown futures tackle it together? Will they even be able to get past the first encounter without running into trouble? Will his past continue to haunt him and ruin his life for good? Will Noelle be able to get past the walls he put up? Is he willing to let anyone in? Or will his steel walls stay intact? ══════ . ●o● . ══════ © 2012 ʙʏ ᴡʀɪᴛᴇʀsʜɪɢʜ (Aᴄᴛᴜᴀʟ ɴᴀᴍᴇ & Pᴇɴ ɴᴀᴍᴇ). Aʟʟ ʀɪɢʜᴛs ʀᴇsᴇʀᴠᴇᴅ.

What is the picture you have of yourself? Everyone has an image of themselves; some keep that picture very private but everyone has one. Can you imagine any circumstance in which you might kill? And if you could, would that necessarily make you a bad person? This is a story of tragedy, friendship, loyalty and enduring devotion; devastating treachery, betrayal, and murder most foul. Propelled by circumstance, John Farrell has to be 'ready for anything'(Utrinque Paratus) as he is taken on a rollercoaster journey from his coalmining community origins in County Durham to Aldershot, the home of the British army, and to war torn Belfast; from London to the poverty ridden streets of Mexico City; from inside the infamous Wormwood Scrubs, to the South of France, to Glasgow, the Scottish Highlands, Berlin and Bangkok. Along the way, influenced by the evil men do, inadvertently it seems, John kills: in desperation, in fear, in anger, in ignorance accidentally. Does that make John Farrell a bad person? You decide! Orphan, boxer, soldier, convict, writer, fighter, loyal friend, protector, loving family man and killer. Killing is something not only evil men do. This is the story of one man's love for his family and the lengths he is prepared to go to safeguard that family. It is about hope, courage and human endurance in the face of adversity. Readers who enjoy a good thriller will love this compelling, character driven, gritty tale, and be able to relate to and empathise with its thoroughly believable if, by necessity, sometimes violent hero.
