"Why you by yo'self, lil ma?" She looked over her shoulder as he approached from behind, then immediately rolled her eyes and faced forward. He chuckled at the attitude, crouching down beside her before slipping into the pool. "You got a lil attitude or sum?" he asked, standing directly in front of her. His lower body was submerged, leaving his bare chest revealed. Even in five feet of water, his 6'3" frame loomed over her. "No," she kept it short, pretending to admire her nails. He chuckled again, swimming closer, not caring who was watching. Journi's back stiffened. She sat up straight, her heart starting to race. He wasn't as close as he could be, but he was close enough. She swallowed the lump in her throat, trying to look anywhere but at him. He reached out, grabbing her calves under the water and caressing them gently. "Kacey, what are you doing?" she muttered lowly, paranoid that every eye in the backyard was on them. "Shit, I could be doing more," he chuckled, the vibration of his voice sending chills down her spine. His tone was enticing, especially when he muttered those slick comments he knew would catch her off guard. Journi blushed, looking down into her lap to avoid eye contact.
