A Call The Midwife Story. In November 1968, Poplar is changing once again. The old East End traditions are giving way to a new decade, and among the busy wards of St. Cuthbert's and the familiar streets served by Nonnatus House, a quiet romance begins to blossom. Timothy Turner, now a junior doctor, is eager to prove himself. Being a midwife in 1801 colonial America had equipped Lane with little more than a pair of silver scissors she had inherited from her grandmother and a set of clean linens prepared and folded just for the occasion of birth. Should she need more in the way of equipment she wouldn't know what it would have been, since 18th century midwifery held the woman's hands and spirit in highest regard. Her horse had been given to her, unbroken, as a gift for the safe delivery of twins a county over. She had lived with the family in anticipation of the delivery for three weeks, and while she had suspected twins she was wholly surprised to see a pair of hands reaching into the light after the first baby boy had been born. Payment was rare if you only counted coins, otherwise she had no fear of going hungry or living in the streets. Along with the silver scissors she had inherited her Grandma's cabin a bit outside of town, and though young enough for marriage, not many suitors considered her suitable. Something had been odd about Lane since the day of her birth, and she and everyone else in the county had known it. Being a midwife only compounded the fact.

This takes place after season 8. Some things are different, and some things are the same. just to let you know, I will not be killing of any characters, I don't think. when Patrick gets shell shock again after a really bad accident, how will the Turners cope? There will be new challenges along the way, as well as old ones that come back to haunt them. And when someone goes missing in nonnatus house and in the turners house , It's up to secret agent shelagh turnova to say the day! JK lol ( someone does go missing though) hope u like! Hi! This is a book of oneshots of Shelagh Turner and Patrick Turner from Call The Midwife. I love this couple. Sometimes they're awkward but they get better as the seasons go on lol I think they're really cute. SO ENJOY! P.s this book in only classed as completed when I run out of ideas lol
