Callum lived behind the safe zone wall's most of his life in safety, only having few memories of what the decaying world outside was like. Rayla lives out in the dangerous wilderness, traveling around with a group, raiding other camps and only cared about her own survival. When the raiders attack the safe zone of Katolis, the infected flood inside, causing panic. For the first time in his life, Callum is separated from his younger brother and everyone he knows, now alone out in the world of the living dead. Callum wanted to solve the mystery behind his aunt's infamous breakfast recipe. Rayla said that her secret ingredient was Love. Ezran said that it was pepper. None of them got it right.

She wasn't sure how she ended up in that situation; as far as she remembered, a human child approached her pleading to get a balloon that got stuck in a tree, and then it snowballed into an afternoon storytime. "Lady Rayla! Lady Rayla!" one of the girls raised her hand enthusiastically. "How did you and Prince Callum met?"
