This is a non-canon Bones fanfiction. In this version, Jack Hodgins can walk, Michelle doesn't exist, and instead Cam and Arastoo have a daughter-Lina Vaziri, who was born deaf. The story follows Lina from when she's little, growing up with a cochlear implant and learning to balance her identity as a Deaf girl in a hearing world. But most of the story takes place when Lina is 15, and everything feels a little more complicated. (LINA IS GROWN UP FROM CHAPTER 6 ONWARDS) She's figuring out high school, friendships, family drama, and first love. Her cochlear implant breaks during a party, there's a crash, and things get serious-fast. With emotions running high, Lina has to learn who she really is, and who's worth trusting when everything falls apart. A story about identity, family, growing up-and finding your voice, even when you can't always hear.
