Dismissing him as any other emo that she hates, she focuses on the problems that are occuring at home. A divorce and endless arguing. Little does she know, her life is about to be turned upside down and upside down again. She begins to change. Falling into self-injury and depression, she ends with nobody to turn to...except for the emo in her biology class.

In a world full of ups and downs. Where everyone has their own way of facing their problems. A girl named Cambrie Khaleah Wang, seems to be fearful of facing her problems. Escaping is her only choice, the best solution she could ever think. Will her escapes, lead her to a life full of regrets and tears? Or will it lead her to changes?

On a world far away, on the very edges of the Aether, strange things are happening. Rifts- wounds within the fabric of space and time- are opening across the continent of the Mire. From them pour strange mechanical creatures, harbringers of destruction made for this singular purpose before any could remember. First, people began disappearing here and there in the frosty wilds of the north... Then platoons of soldiers, then outposts, then entire cities. The scientists of the Mire work tirelessly to find an answer to these strange occurances but only meet with failure. Doom, it seems, is unavoidable. However, just when all hope seemed lost, a beacon is set ablaze within one of these rifts which would allow a team to delve into the shadowy unknown in search of much needed answers- answers which may prove too terrible to comprehend. In these times heroes must arise, or the world will surely perish. All they have is a powerful and mystical language and their ideals. In the end, neither of these may be enough to grant success.
