Marra doesn't know what to expect when she wakes up to blue and red lights flashing outside her bedroom window. The cops tell her that her parents committed suicide. Does Marra believe them? Not for one second. Her parents had everything to live for, including herself. She gets sent to a foster home where she finds herself living with a strange family, and her neighbor is the typical boy next door. Her new foster family never lets anyone out after 8, and is constantly saying crazy things such as, 'monsters are real. They're not just in your head.' They're obviously crazy.... right? The only thing Marra knows for sure is that she WILL find her parents killer. Unfortunately not without getting dragged into a war of what seems like good and evil.
