Her feelings for the tricky shapeshifter really aren't making things easier for her. There are people lurking in the shadows, a threat that has come for the miracle. One that Valeria and only one other Madrigal are able to investigate. Few listen to them, and fewer are willing to do anything about the supposed 'danger' they discovered. Marriage proposals, invisible men, and broken candles line everything around Valeria. It's hard to discern what is right and what she should fight for when she finds out secrets about the past, present, and future. Confusion haunts her steps, doubt is a constant companion. But sometimes you have to give up personal pleasures and security to save others. Sometimes you have to be ready to give up your life and save the Last Candle.
