You where invited to a camp fire in the middle of the woods, nine people are going ( not including you), and the idea of scary stories is brought up.

This is a first draft of a short story concept i've been fascinated with. Its about Betha, a girl who isn't sure about her place in the world as she remembers a story her Grandmother Raine once told her that began, "Once upon a time Life and Death were Loves."

"They were a family of hunters, but not the kind of hunters that you might find out in the woods, no, the Winchester family hunted things that most people only read about in story books; things that would make you shudder." After spending most their entire lives on the road, Sam and Dean Winchester, hope that their move to a small mountain town will give them the dream life that they've always wanted. But not long after they settle in, it seems the monsters are knocking on their doors, leaving the boys to fend for themselves, while their dad goes off on yet another "hunting" trip. After Sam, becomes upset and makes a rash decision, the boys find themselves in the midst of their own Monster crisis that has plagued the mountains for centuries before it became nothing but a simple Campfire story. Sam and Dean realize that it's on their shoulders to save themselves, the camp and maybe even the town. But can the Winchester boys stand against something so ancient and evil without the help of their father

This is my Sept 2017 Sci Fi Challenge, "Legend". Although a freestanding short story, I wrote it as a side-story to Stars. Enjoy!

The gang decides to take a break from their busy lives and spend part of the summer camping in the wilderness. As they bond over campfires, hikes, and stargazing, they also confront their fears and insecurities; while Jade tries to find proof that her ghost story existed. Set in August 2014

A short, chilling campfire story

Just a short story I made a long time ago for a horror writing competition. I came across it agian and figured why not post it? The Optimism Bias is thinking that bad things are less likely to happen to you. It's the feeling of, yes, people's houses burn down, but that won't happen to me. People are inclined to belive that positive things are more likely to happen than negative things.

Let's gather around the campfire and tell some crappy stories! I don't know what the heck I'm doing, so it'll be great! Basically, my pals from the Marvel universe, DC universe, and the Dark World Universe are going to tell some pretty crack-filled and interesting stories. Some will be quick, maybe some will expand, and maybe some will make you want to jump head first into the flames. I don't know, but it should be good! Ish.... Whatever, I'm just some kid anyways with no life so I don't care much... Oh, and apparently I need to give a legal disclaimer. Ya know, because I don't want to get sued. I don't own anything of or pertaining to anything DC or Marvel. Ever. No matter how much I trademark. I will try. But then I will get sued. And it will suck. HOWEVER, I do own the Dark World Universe. It is my own stuff, with my own ideas, with pieces of my own soul sewed in to make sure it doesn't fall apart. The Dark World Universe is mine, and I don't like sharing. So, if you want it you have to pry it from my cold, dead, hands. But, seriously, everyone and almost everything in that universe belongs to me. Please respect that and don't steal. That is punishable by law. Anyway, some things in here, by some coincidence, might be cannon. But since I don't know cannon, deal with the things that aren't. Or maybe some of them should be. Just saying. That is all. ANYONE WANT S'MORES?!?!?!?!
