Tatum Cross is a Low Point. She always has been and she most likely always will. She has never minded being a member of such a low social class. Sure, they have far less money than the High Points and can hardly afford anything in the Northern City, but she loves their simplicity. However, she is shocked to find out that all Low Points are banned from going through the Process something everyone dreams of going through when they turn sixteen. It is considered a ‘milestone’ in life. It is the process of becoming Immortal. Instead of going through the Process, Tatum is whisked away, forced to change her name in secrecy and put into a scientific simulated environment that government has put them in to see how she reacts to the powers Tatum and nine others are given. But things go wrong. People die. And Tatum has to go by a significant saying: Don’t. Trust. Anyone.

Alice Wilde could kick some butt. Not only had she punched a guy her age and almost killed him for various reasons, she was planning to do so on the police officer who was hearing her side of the story and could probably land her sorry ass in jail. She was pissed. And you're about to find out why.
