'As she walks past, I have a sudden urge to get her attention. I reach out to grab her left arm, as her hands are tucked into her pockets, giving me the perfect opportunity to latch onto her angled arm. "Lauren! Hey!" She turns around immediately, dragging her right fist out - it's clenched so hard that I can see her nails penetrating into the skin of palm, blood trickling slowly down her wrist.
