The clock of Sharon Abbot's inevitable passing is winding down. She has Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and the future never looked so bleak. Her sickness is getting worse, and she doesn't have anything to hold on to. Or does she? A young couple, unable to bear children of their own, find their way into her life. She is touched by their affection, but she knows she's living on borrowed time; every second she feels weaker; every minute she's losing her strength, more and more. Sharon has a nearly impossible choice: hold on and fight through (the smallest possible chance), or let go and breathe her last. "Dying is harder than I thought."

An I Am Legend fan fiction set before the events of the movie/book, this story focuses on the experiences of the first group of successfully cured cancer patients. Though they all had different backrounds, different ages and different types of cancer, there is one thing they share: the fact that they're all going to die one way or the other...unless they take a leap of faith and agree to be lab rats for the human trials of a possible cure and make history as the first ever successfully cured cancer patients. I'm going to try to make this an emotional rollercoaster but here's a little warning beforehand: 1. I'm a terrible writer
