This is my warts and all personal journey in the battle for my life with the BIG C. It is an honest account of what happened along the way. As a novelist Tina has no problem creating the trashy love scenes that played out so often in her 'erotic friend fictions' of her teenage years. She knows the formula, the plot, the resolution - guy gets the girl and they ride off into the sunset. Or some variation thereof. Vampire gets the zombie, guy gets the trans girl, whatever - she was no sexuality snob. And romantic Rhode Island provides the perfect backdrop to inspire her scenery. However when she gets the call that she needs to come home she's reminded of why she isn't as happy to be single as she had previously convinced herself.

I'm not good at poems, never have been, but they tend to help get some emotions out. And these are just some emotions I've felt since I was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2020 until my step-father got the news of stage 4 cancer.

Melanie has been to countless hospitals since she was just five years old. She is battling a brutal battle of Leukemia. Her doctors tell her to go back to school for her senior year. After all, it will be her last in many ways. She returns to school with her old friends and her best friend, Stephanie. Melanie tries to learn the ropes of high school, but her cancer slows her down. When she meets the not-so-new kid, Owen, she sees life differently and decides to give her life one last shot.

Living with the uncertainty of a pending medical test

Maya and Noah met in college. Soon after, they were married. Maya's dad dies from a heart attack. Then, Noah develops cancer and is told he can't have kids. Maya prays every night to God that a miracle will happen and Noah will be cured. Maya's praying helps. Noah is cured. Then a miracle happens and Maya is pregnant. Noah and Maya name their baby girl: Naomi. Noah's job allows him to travel a lot. One day, he has to leave to go onto a business trip. Sadly, his plane crashes and he dies. Maya is left with Naomi who is now two years old. Maya discovers that she is pregnant after Noah dies. Maya becomes very sad that Noah is not there to meet his child. Can Maya raise Naomi and their unborn child alone? Will she be able to open her heart up to find another guy?
