Zoe Aurelia Fortaleza set her mind not to date anyone. She moved on. She's convinced that she's now in a 'love myself' phase after one heartache. Yes. One heartbreak. After her one-year private relationship with Nash Corbin, they end up because her grandfather was against their relationship and thinking that it will be better when her parents heard everything from her, she flew to Canada to come clean with them but when she came back... he already left. After that heartbreak, she realized that even though the relationship looks so good, full of love and perfect, it's not an assurance that the person you are with will stay. Knowing that, she's not brave enough to enter another relationship, is she? For her, love is deceiving. Making her believe she'll have someone by her side already but ended up leaving her also. Too bad Nash Corbin came back to prove her wrong. But I'm wondering, did he come back to prove to her that their love is not deceiving or to prove to her that... she hasn't really moved on just yet? A Wife's Recollection & Reflection ****** My Husband's Cancer Journey As my husband celebrates his 10th year as a cancer survivor I got the chance to look back on the events before his diagnosis, during his treatment and recovery. I finally had the moment to reflect on how we took his cancer journey together. When I recall each and every moment, I realized how we the wives/husbands front as the stronger and bigger person in such times. I remembered how in our "alone time" we bottled the pains from the start and end of the journey. In our own secret space and time we bled purple. We may have not suffered physically, but inside our hearts we felt unexplainable pains. In our minds we suffered endless and unexplainable fears. We posed our strongest faces and exude the greatest calm in the outside. In silence we also fought the battle, with and for them. We are the silent warriors.

As a novelist Tina has no problem creating the trashy love scenes that played out so often in her 'erotic friend fictions' of her teenage years. She knows the formula, the plot, the resolution - guy gets the girl and they ride off into the sunset. Or some variation thereof. Vampire gets the zombie, guy gets the trans girl, whatever - she was no sexuality snob. And romantic Rhode Island provides the perfect backdrop to inspire her scenery. However when she gets the call that she needs to come home she's reminded of why she isn't as happy to be single as she had previously convinced herself.

No one wants to hear the words "you have cancer." However, the truth is, more and more people hear those words everyday. I heard those words when I was only thirteen years old. I learned that cancer doesn't care how old you are, if you have a family, or if you're healthy. Cancer doesn't care about you or your feelings. I also learned that in some ways, cancer can be a good thing. It can bring you closer to the ones you love and change your perspective on life. "The Good Cancer" is my personal cancer journey. Care to join me?

I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up, my friend!"he answered back happily. --- "Why were you staring a me the entire time, git?" I snapped at Alfred. "Because you're beautiful, and I like looking at gorgeous people." Alfred replied. I rolled my eyes. --- Little did I know, that idiot ended up ruining my life…
