Grand-commander Morath is dead, and the fragile peace between the Order of the Plains and their former allies in the northern mountains is close to breaking. The knights of Klinberg, riders of the madriel pride, are preparing themselves for the High-tourney, where the new Command of their Order will be decided, and with it, the future of hostilities. But this year the contest for the Orders' leadership will not be settled in the jousting ring. Four children will play a part in its outcome. Grifford and Tahlia Layne; brutish son and wayward daughter of the Order's finest Pride-commander, Maddock Jonas, a farm-boy who has heard his future told by a voice from the vault-weed, and Dakskansia, an Engineer's daughter, imbued with strength and intellect but not with courage. Their actions will set them on a course that will shape both the future and the past, but before they can do that, they must overcome their enmity towards one another.

In early 13th century, Latin invaders came on their flying galleys and conquered the defenceless Byzantine Empire. Forty years later, a fragile peace between the victorious nobles is maintained by way of anemo regattas, races of flying boats, with the winner granted any wish that is in the Emperor's power to deliver. Ikaria is not a Latin - she's a half-Greek daughter of a brilliant anemo engineer, and a genius of the science herself; her dream is to one day win the great regatta of Egriponte, the most prestigious of all competitions - but the commoners have just been banned from taking part in the races. To realise her dream, she must ally with a nobleman - a mysterious Greek turncoat, Mikhael.

Steam and Thunder is the story of Jacklincoln Cartwright, or Jac as he is commonly known. The son of a Cartwright who lives in a world rather like the late fifteenth century of ours. Whilst a canal with the revolutionary idea of locks is being built near his home, Jac sees in his mind that steam from the kettle can make power to propel items. Jacklincoln at a very young age changes his Medieval period world into that of a Renaissance Era, with the use of steam power and invention. Transforming all his nation to what might be a RenTech (Renaissance Technology) based economy. Such that the country that has these inventions far outstrips the feudal agrarian neighbors setting the stage for an environment of political and social strife that will shake all the nations in a world war. Steam and Thunder is a full length novel shown here at Wattpad a chapter at a time.
