Russia, as confident and strong he looks, on the inside he's just a pile of nervous ash. Still scarred by his father's death, he looks for more meaning in life. He's already found it but he doesn't know how to deal with the feelings he has for a certain someone... And this someone: America, has a pretty average life. The only thing is his father is an alcoholic. And not the funny drunk either. America has to help his siblings, and is the only one brave enough to stand up to their father when drunk. America has not only to stop getting his father to drink, but help his friend who has fallen extremely ill with something no one knows what it is. At least he has a gift that will help him more than once. This is my first fanfic that I actually published so please hang with me- I may post another book in this same au for gerpol, but it will get really slow updates because Im already writing a lot of other books. The year is 1991, and the USSR has collapsed. The world is transforming and is seeing an age of peace and prosperity. But some countries are stuck in the past, some refuse to move on. Especially Russia, who after the Soviet's death has been left confused and scared of what the world has in store for him. Will he and other countries learn to move on from the past?
