I wrote this book to continue the story after the mockingjay book, because I've always wondered what would have happened to the characters. - Katniss is back in district 12 after the end of the rebellion, she deals with the pain of not having her sister, and her mom in her life as she tries to forget what happened in the last years.

Cerbera Lull from district 2, discovers in the worst possible way that the 25th annual hunger games, will be totally different from the other games she grew up with. She's scared, disenchanted and hopeless after seeing year after year children die in terrible ways. But now there is the first quarter quell and her story begins on the 3rd of July, one day before the reaping
