Her life seemed to be going in a completely normal direction until the Battle of New York tore through the heart of New York City. She barely escaped the battle with her life. Four years later and she seems to have gotten over it, her life continuing as she is doing research in the middle of the desert. When suddenly masked men are pointing guns at her and demanding her to hand over her research, her world is thrown back into a downward spiral when she is taken in by the Avengers.
