She got shot in the heart 52 times by a frustrated murderer, but nothing happened. Sure the bullets entered her heart wounding her, but she didn't die. When it was found that she had powers that kept her alive, she was then taken to a high security prison. It wasn't until the Avengers payed her a visit that she began to have hope in herself again.

Or was it the fact he cared so much for me and my well-being, that he understood what I had gone through. Is it me or is this guy perfect? Someone I've been looking for my entire life? Steve is not the most up to date guy around. Heck, the guy barely knows how to use YouTube, let alone know anything about the LGBTQ+ community - especially since the community was taboo in the 1940s. I do not really touch on it in this story, but note that both Steve and Bucky - as well as all the other Avengers - would have some serious trauma that would impact their lives quite a bit. Alexis was another of Yondu's long lost children of space, she grew up alongside the Ravagers and Peter Quill. Alexis never knew how she got to space or what her last name even was.
