Vee is 17. This is her last summer before college, and she wanted to spend it with her friends like she has every other summer, down at Lake Livingston. However, her mother has other plans. He hardly speaks to her, and acts as rude as he possibly can, but still, he's always there. It's a small island, so it could be a coincidence, but Vee doesn't believe in coincidences. The longer she stays on the island, the more she finds out about the unpleasant secrets hiding behind its beautiful mask. But when she decides to discover what is really going on, the truth about the island-and her family-leaves her shocked and, to be honest, a little terrified.
