Ryland Everest was not like his family at all, he was actually the opposite of everything they worked so hard to keep a pristine reputation for. For starters, unlike his family, he had been a Hufflepuff while they were all Slytherins and the list could go on. Ryland was best friends with Sirius Black until they had been separated into two different houses and the marauders stole Sirius from him. Ryland didn't hold a grudge but he had been disappointed that the promise they had made to each other was broken.
