The action may be simple in itself but it is one of the most basic practices that we follow, this is because at a certain age we were educated that these practices are good for us and will help us lead a healthy life. While these simple acts may seem like something we often practise, some people are unaware of these fundamental aspects of daily life. How illiteracy is affecting India? Thanks to the digitization that the illiteracy rate has seen a drop in recent years, but it hasn't been eradicated yet. A study in 2020 shows that over 10.1 million kids have been a victim of child labor due to illiteracy. Not only has illiteracy affected the children but also the youth of the nation who seek employment. No company wants to hire an illiterate person thus rendering them helpless in this world of technology. An article in Economic Times shows that the employment rate dropped by a major 7.8% by November 2020. Illiteracy is the major cause due to which India suffers.
