As he journeys through lush forests and shadowy landscapes, Jeremiah unravels secrets about this realm, the beings who inhabit it, and even himself. Despite his initial reluctance, Jeremiah cannot ignore the villagers' plight. Their suffering stirs a resolve within him, pushing him to stand against Radamar and his cruel reign. Shelice Nembhard is the daughter of a powerful vampire. Her twin brother, Winston, was born with their mother's witch magic. But neither of them is satisfied with the gifts they've inherited. Shelice, the chosen heir to their father's dominion in New Kingston, feels trapped by her bloodline. She longs for spellcasting and the quiet rituals of magic, not immortal politics and fanged diplomacy. Winston, gifted in spellwork but lacking the strength and speed of his sister, dreams of power, control, and the throne she doesn't even want. Together, they make a plan: find the legendary spell said to switch magical gifts between beings. Together, they run-into the unknown wilds of Jamaica, a land teeming with mythical creatures, cursed ruins, whispering forests, and hungry demons. It's on this journey that they meet Kim, a half-angel girl being hunted by something ancient and merciless. Saving her forces the twins to face more than monsters-it forces them to confront themselves. As they chase clues and run from the past, they find themselves stuck in a cruel pattern: Shelice using spells that always fall short, Winston relying on strength that never fully rises. And when Kim is taken, the twins turn on each other in frustration and grief. But magic was never meant to be borrowed-and power can't be stolen. To survive the final battle and save the ones they love, Shelice and Winston must stop running from who they are and embrace the strengths they were born with. Thicker Than Magic is an urban fantasy adventure rooted in Jamaican folklore, full of dark creatures, family secrets, emotional twists, and a reminder that the greatest magic of all is knowing who you are.

(This story is completed) Lajablesse also known as La Diablesse is a character from Caribbean folklore. She is always described the same way a beautiful woman with a broad brimmed hat and a long white dress meant to hide the fact that one of her feet is in fact a cloven hoof. She is particularly fond of attending belle air dances and can be seen at night in the forest or on lonely roads after festivities where she entices stray men. Men who fall victim to Lajablesse are always found the next day at the bottom of a precipice with their neck broken. Who and what Lajablesse is varies between stories. Sometimes she's a witch who has made a pact with the devil, sometimes she's a demon, and often she is the ghost of a woman who was wronged or killed by a man. Her stories are typically told from the perspective of the victim or an outside observer so I thought it would be fun to see what a story would look like from her perspective.
