They were not a perfect couple. They fought and cried over dumb stuff, had makeup sex a lot, were way too into PDA, basically were glued to each other's sides, and annoyed the crap out of anyone who had to be around them for too long. Victorian Era AU It was another hunt, that's what Carlos said as Cecil followed him to the outskirts of town to figure out what was causing all the chaos to the townfolks,

Carlos believes that emotions and science can coexist. Cecil believes science is a death sentence written in red. Innocence is an illusion, the macabre a reality, and hope a fragile light flickering in the dark void.

Cecil has to go to reeducation and forgets about Carlos and their life together. He does remember someone though- Earl Harlan- his childhood friend and- almost- boyfriend. Earl still has feelings for Cecil, but knows deep down that Carlos is the best thing for him and so begins Operation Remember Carlos.
