Love is a strange thing. Especially in the case of same sex relationships. During the 1990s, the muggle world has grown progessive in this case. However, the wizarding world is still miles behind with the Ministry of Magic enforcing executions or life imprisonment in Azkaban on those who they see as 'monsters' to society. For two girls, Carly Black-Potter and Luna Lovegood, this law is the one thing keeping them apart. From their first year, they became friends but over time, it grew to something more. With the ministry watching and the threat of a second wizarding war looming, both Carly and Luna try their best to stay strong and let their love persevere. However, will it continue to be their light or will the darkness tear them apart?

Luna Lovegood hates the world. On the outside, she is a bubbly, happy girl, who believes in made up creatures. But on the inside, she hides a dark secret. Luna is in love with another girl, in a world where same sex relationships are highly illegal, punishable by life imprisonment and in some cases, death. But Luna doesn't care about the risks, for she loves Carly. And she is willing to do anything to live openly with the person she loves most in the world, even if that means joining Lord Voldemort to get what she wants.

The Second Wizarding War has long finished. Luna Black-Lovegood shares a happy life with her wife, Carly, and daughter Regina. Until one day, tragedy resurfaces. Kingsley Shacklebolt, the current Minister for Magic, decides the reinstate the 'Moral Purity Act', which will put Luna's family at risk. But Luna will not allow this. Because as the Ministry will soon learn, A phoenix doesn't burn... It ascends!
