"I wasn't born a poet" is the poem that won me second place in the Elliot Ruchowitz-Roberts Monterey County High School Poetry Awards 2026, organized by the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts.

Here you will met another version of Elaine. In fact I think this is my first version of her as I wrote it years ago. Whether it is the first part of her story or the last I'm not quite sure! Set in modern day, a team of archeologists are scouring the land looking for anything related to Arthurian times - it's a far cry but worth a shot? Peculiar stone sites have been noticed all over the land, but what could they be? Discovered by accident and uncovered through curiosity a whole new adventure is about to begin. Please note I wrote this years ago, I've tried to do a bit of an edit on it so do let me know as I'm a bit nervous about publishing it! ^^

As Bridget travels through the ups and downs of dealing with her first true love, she learns many lessons as they embark on a journey like no other.

"kasi ano..?" "Kasi laro lang ang lahat, makinig ka, dinare lang ako ng mga kaibigan ko, dinare lang ako na mapaibig kits! pero Seir--" diko na pinatapos yung sasabihin niya kasi... sobrang sakit yumuko nalang ako para di niya makita luha ko "D-dahil ba sa nerd lang ako, tsaka pwedeng pwede niyo ng paglaruan? pffft kaya pala" ang bilis ng luha ko! nakakainis "Max, alam mo bang ikaw lang ang nagparamdam sakin kung pano magmahal? pero ikaw rin pala ang magparamdam sakin kung gaano kasakit masaktan.. at sa laro pa talaga.." wala na umiiyak nako..ansakit... "Sei--" aakmang hahawakan niya ako pero tinabig ko ang kamay niya "huwag na huwag mo kong hahawakan! ansama niyo! ansama mo!!!" tumakbo nako palabas ng mall wala na akong pakialam kung ano ang sasabihin nila, ang alam ko lang durog na durog puso ko, kakatakbo ko diko alam na umuulan pala, umupo ako sa upuan ng park at iniisip lahat ng nangyari.. grabe ansakit .... nagmahal ako pero sa maling paraan nasaktan..umiyak nalang ako ng to do..

Carmen is just an average girl stuck in the terrors of the foster system. She finds herself going to many different schools and finally ends up in one called Northwood High. The school seems like a total bust except there is something odd about it. A person wearing a black hoodie seems to show up and help her unexpectedly and then disappear. It has become her mission to discover who this hooded angel is before her new foster parents kick her out.
