Kidnapped/kid fic - Roseanna Calloway is the youngest member of just another average suburban family. When she's not hiding in her books or imagining herself as an action hero, Ro often gets caught in squabbles between her moody teenage sister and her hyperactive tweenage brother. Her parents didn't break the mold any more than her siblings did, possessing the equally boring occupations of Historian and Electrical Engineer, and kept up boring hobbies to match, like her dad's passion for telling dad jokes and listening to old opera tunes, or, in her mom's case, collecting dusty knick-knacks from by-gone eras, memorizing trivia nobody knew the context to, and attending fusion kickboxing Zumba. On paper, the five of them were as normal as they came, barely warranting cause for a closer look. But reality is not so cut and dry; Roseanna's had eight years to notice all the tiny ways her family was different from everyone else - from her mother's lack of baby pictures or her father's adamancy never to use social media - but the reality is a lot more complicated. When an old rival from her parents' shady past returns for retribution, the shocking truth is finally revealed.

"You knew this whole time... you knew she wasn't meant for this." Gray whispers. There's pain there, Shadowsan clearly hears, and he can't help but feel sympathy for the boy. The sequel to She's Too Good for You no one really expected, but we're getting anyway.
