Sam is a girl who can see ghosts. She tries to help them with their unfinished business so they can cross over. Not being able to ignore ghosts has caused her to not fit in well at school and be labeled an outcast. Her dad switches her schools to Los Feliz High School, where she meets Julie.

If you read it you'll just know what happened in seventh grade because it mentions it but it'll mention it here too so I guess you really don't have to read Bright first. The story of Carrie Wilson. *This is a LGBTQ+ book - obviously most of carries traits or personality is not cannon, but I wanna write this anyway, so please enjoy.* Carrie is a young girl, desperately trying to replicate her fathers success, but after her childhood best friend rises to fame, she almost gives up on life entirely. Through the many weeks of watching Julie Molina become more well known, Carrie feels as though she will always be an outcast, no matter how hard she tries. A few of her secrets get out, and she feels utterly convinced that nobody is on her side, until she meets her night in shining armor -Alex Mercer. Alex is just a regular teenage boy, that also happens to be a ghost. Alex helps Carrie come to terms with things in her life, that she doesn't really understand - all while making sure that she learns to love herself, just as she did before.

Katie, Reggie, Luke, Alex, and Bobby, aka Sunset Curve, were going to be legends. Up until an accident that in which Reggie, Luke, and Alex unfortunately lost their lives. 25 years later, Katie, now an immortal witch, and her friend's daughter Julie somehow encounter the three boys again, now living as ghosts. Now she, Carrie and Nick are seniors in high school and Carrie and Peyton are trying to break into the music industry while Nick is trying to lead the lacrosse team to another championship win. While Julie on the other hand is on the complete other end of the spectrum. Since her mom died she hasn't played any music and she only talks to Flynn, her dad and her little brother. Now Julie is a junior and her music teacher told her that if she doesn't sing or play some form of music in her next class then she will be kicked from the program until next semester. The two sisters are still at odds with each other a year later but now it's different. Peyton has made up her mind: she has decided that if Julie doesn't wanna have her in her life then she'll be out of it as much as she can. Sure Peyton had been doing this a bit but after so much rejection she decided to give up. Plus let's not forget Julie has some potential new friends in the form of a ghost band. Will they be able to help her reconnect with music and be able to fix her relationship with her sister? Or will it be too late to fix it and they'll just end up always divided?
