This is a fanfic sequel to Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. There will be *SPOILERS* for Carry On, so definitely read that first! I just loved the book so much, and I couldn't stop thinking about the characters and wondering what their lives would be like post-epilogue. Would Simon ever find out the truth about his parents? Is Baz immortal? Will Penny move to America to be with Micah? Is Agatha ever going to return to the World of Mages? Would Fiona come across Nico in her new gig as a vampire hunter? I thought it'd be fun to explore all these questions and more in a serialized story. I'm not sure how many parts there will be, or how often I will update this, but I couldn't get the ideas out of my head unless I started writing them down. So that's what this is. I hope you enjoy!

Simon Snow had always been an odd child, but most foster parents were willing to overlook it for the poor blue-eyed child that he had been. However he was 11 now, and nobody wants him now. Warmth. It is, to me, the color orange, with a soft red core and yellow radiation. It is playing my violin and the library at home and smelling Daphne's freshly baked cookies as they cool down the hall. It is falling into my wide open, beyond comfortable bed after a long day. Warmth. It is not the scent of the dry, bitter scones they offer at Watford, nor the feeling of uncomfortably tailored school clothes. The sound of silence is not fitting, as it murders my delectation and paints me until I'm feeling melancholy. And blue, it could never be a sign of hospitality. Well, it was, and it was not, would be the more truthful way of putting things. These days, at least.

Misfired is the story of Cath, an aspiring writer and protein-bar aficionado, and her journey through freshman year at her magic college--a journey filled with empty peanut butter jars, cold pizza, awkward glances, love, and yes, spell misfires. This story is a Fangirl AU about Cath living in a world where mages and normals coexist and where Cath attends a magic college.
