When you're stranded by the side of the road, a stranger offers you an unexpected ride...

This is a story about a truck-hating girl who stalls in the middle of an intersection, and the soccer playing boy who tries to save her. "He started the car again, and got it to unstall. “So where are we headed Ms. Harmon, I’m at your command.” I looked out the window, and saw the headlights of a car heading our way. We were in the middle of a four way stop, so I looked at Sebastian to tell him we needed to head out. I was about to tell him the directions to Lana’s house, when the giant ass truck that was approaching the stop sign didn't stop. I could only see a glimpse of a face: purposeful eyes, a determined set in the shoulders, a plain white man’s face in a blue baseball cap, and a angry red scar traversing the length of his cheek. The glimpse was enough to know that what was about to happen wouldn’t be avoided. “Sebastian!” I scream. He whips his head to the window, and steps on the gas, but not soon enough. Sebastian seems to know that the car is going to hit us, and he throws his arm out in front of me, trying to shield me as best he can, and then the truck hits…. I seriously have a problem with truck drivers."

When Benjamin Alexander James has a chance meeting with Gray on the beach during her 21st birthday party, he thinks he's never met a girl as adventurous as her, but when she escapes the life she hates so much, he thinks he'll never see her again, so he moves on to his life he had mapped out before meeting Gray. Could seeing each other three years later spark something in them again, or will it end up in flames. "The grey is the unknown, scary, and wonderful." -p.s.p

Jack raised an eyebrow. "Claire, Adam wants us to be in the office at 7 tomorrow." Claire bit back another sigh. "I'm well aware, Jack, but like you said-my car isn't going anywhere right now. Not without a tow truck." "Then let me take you home." Claire stiffened, her traitorous heart skipping a beat at his suggestion. "I'm sorry?"

A man named Daniel gets into a bit of trouble on his way back from visiting family. Submitted for a contest on Reedsy (That ended already, so I can post this now, don't worry.)
