In this 'retro' story, a 13 year old Adam Cartwright helps his nearly 7 year old brother, Hoss, deal with the school bully, Jeremy Fitch. A bully that loves picking on the kids that are 'different'. With help from his Pa, too, Hoss proves to his family, and friends, just what he's 'made of', and truly proves 'the mark of a boy '. This is a 'retro - stand alone' story, and can be read at any time, and be easily followed and understood, whether you've read my other stories, or not.

When Chief Winnemucca of the of the Paiute tribe shows up at the Ponderosa one morning, it causes an uproar of excitement for the Cartwrights! The Chief wants Ben to trade him two beef cattle for the feisty redheaded gal he brought with him. But Ben doesn't want to trade cattle for a person. That is until Adam talks him into going through with the trade, promising to take full responsibility for the girl. Adam learns real fast that he just might have gotten himself in way deeper than he expected, especially since the redhead turns out to be not only a spitfire, but a very beautiful spitfire... (This is book two of Romancing the Ponderosa series and it is NOT a standalone. You must read the first book, Mrs. Little Joe for it to make sense since The Redhead begins three months after Mrs. Little Joe ends.)

Sci-Fi Contest May 2019 Entry Of course Maia would do anything to save her father. Including going traveling to an alternate dimension and track down an artifact that could kill you upon touch if it deems you unworthy. Maia's father was diagnosed with Creultzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). It's a rare disease that leads to dementia and always death as there is no treatment. But Maia doesn't take no for an answer. She meets Leo, Emma, and Alex, whose parents were in the same facility for CJD. Joining forces, they find out about an artifact that was written in ancient legends that could cure their parents. However, after the government found out about the dangers of the artifact, they secretly sent it through a portal to another dimension. The group of four continue through the gateway, facing dangers from two different worlds as they fight to find the one thing that could save their loved ones, and kill them all. Never did anything like this before, but I would really like to enter the contest. I might form it into a full on story later if I feel like it. Dear readers, Sorry if it's super short and summarized, but the contest has a word limit so... yeah.

When in town one day getting supplies, Ben runs into an old acquaintance from before he went to sea. He invites her and her three daughters to stay on the Ponderosa until they can get settled elsewhere since her oldest daughter is Virginia City's new schoolteacher. While catching up on the past with this friend, he realizes that it feels like all those years that they were apart never happened and that they just picked up where they left off. Sparks begin to fly again when she agrees to court him. Together they solve multiple problems and in the end become almost like one family instead of two. Read this fourth and final book of the Romancing the Ponderosa series to see the Cartwright family grow even more! (This is not a standalone book and in order to understand the story the other three books must be read first.)
