-La vida es simple a la luz de la luna -susurró a la vez que jugueteaba con una varilla en su mano derecha. -¿Qué? -exclamé mientras pestañeaba energéticamente- Julian solía decir frases sueltas sin sentido, pero la luna estaba realmente bella, así que supuse que se refería a que la luz que nos envolvía estaba haciendo que todo fuese más fácil. Me alegraba escuchar esas palabras de parte del castaño, que la mayoría de veces -por no decir siempre- veía las cosas de la peor manera posible. Me avergüenza confesarles que la última vez que lo vi fue hace diez años. He seguido con mi vida pero he observado atenta cada una de sus subidas y sus peores caídas, confieso que he leído con los ojos bien abiertos el diario en varias ocasiones, cuando le acusaban de ser "drogadicto o dependiente del alcohol" y hasta cuando tuvo su primer hijo. Mi vida tomó un curso totalmente distinta a la de él. Pero un día mientras tomaba una cerveza, un amigo puso una canción en youtube, "Life is simple in the moonlight" escuché su voz apagada y arrastrada pero a la vez con mucho sentimiento, me rasqué la cabeza de forma inquieta y me levanté un poco mareada para ver el nombre de la banda en la pantalla del computador, "The Strokes", susurré el nombre y mi cerveza cayó al suelo.
