Lizzie was only two years old when she and her parents adopted Caesar. He was about 2 to 4 years when he was adopted and Lizzie never treated him like a pet, but a best friend. Lizzie was first person that made Casear feel like he wasn't an ape. But 5 years later, Lizzie's mom and stepfather realized that Casear was overprotective towards Lizzie that he nearly killed a man that attack his best friend. Now he was being taken away and Lizzie knows nothing about this. How would she feel when she comes home to her best friend not there??
